Sales and Marketing Curriculum Launch

BIWE is pleased to launch the Sales and Marketing Curriculum at Don Bosco Tech – Karen.

On 14.09.2026, the institution, represented by Fr. Kibe received the official sales and marketing curriculum curated for Don Bosco Tech – Karen. This curriculum, developed by Ms. Faith Mwangi and with input from the BIWE team and Don Bosco Management will meet the current changing needs in the industry that calls for more than just skills.

The students will be market ready and be able to win customers and market their businesses effectively. It is also an additional skillset that ensures they have an edge at the companies they eventually get into.

We appreciate the BMZ and Sequa for the facilitating the realization of this curriculum and hope it influences the lives of many young people that go through Don Bosco Tech – Karen.

First Aid Training

On 4th July 2026, BIWE, in partnership with Don Bosco Tech–Karen and the Kenya Association of Muslim Medical Professionals (KAMMP), successfully conducted a First Aid Training for staff members.

As a technical institution, Don Bosco Tech–Karen recognizes that accidents are an inevitable risk in workshops and classrooms where practical training takes place. To strengthen preparedness and safety, staff from the production unit and teaching departments were equipped with basic life-saving skills designed to empower them as first responders in case of emergencies.

The training covered essential areas such as:

  • Immediate response to common workshop injuries
  • Basic CPR and resuscitation techniques
  • Handling bleeding, burns, and fractures
  • Safe evacuation and emergency communication protocols

By investing in this initiative, BIWE reaffirmed its commitment to creating safer learning and working environments for both staff and students. The program not only enhances workplace safety but also builds confidence among staff to act swiftly and effectively when accidents occur.

This collaboration with KAMMP highlights the importance of cross-sector partnerships in promoting health, safety, and empowerment within technical and vocational education. BIWE is proud to have sponsored this training, ensuring that staff are better prepared to safeguard lives and foster a culture of safety across the institution.

Production Unit Assessment

One of our focus areas for this phase of the project is strengthening the Carpentry Production Unit at Don Bosco Technical – Karen. The institution has been running the production unit for many years now and they have a significant customer base. However, there are ways to optimize their current processes. BIWE contracted a German Mastercraftsman, Mr. Philipp Emrich who did an evaluation of the workshop processes. Together with the production unit team, Mr. Emrich made recommendations on what measures should be taken to optimize their workflows and output.

We look forward to the implementation of the measures in the coming months.
