First Aid Training
On 4th July 2026, BIWE, in partnership with Don Bosco Tech–Karen and the Kenya Association of Muslim Medical Professionals (KAMMP), successfully conducted a First Aid Training for staff members.
As a technical institution, Don Bosco Tech–Karen recognizes that accidents are an inevitable risk in workshops and classrooms where practical training takes place. To strengthen preparedness and safety, staff from the production unit and teaching departments were equipped with basic life-saving skills designed to empower them as first responders in case of emergencies.
The training covered essential areas such as:
- Immediate response to common workshop injuries
- Basic CPR and resuscitation techniques
- Handling bleeding, burns, and fractures
- Safe evacuation and emergency communication protocols
By investing in this initiative, BIWE reaffirmed its commitment to creating safer learning and working environments for both staff and students. The program not only enhances workplace safety but also builds confidence among staff to act swiftly and effectively when accidents occur.
This collaboration with KAMMP highlights the importance of cross-sector partnerships in promoting health, safety, and empowerment within technical and vocational education. BIWE is proud to have sponsored this training, ensuring that staff are better prepared to safeguard lives and foster a culture of safety across the institution.
